Città di Castello is a charming town at the river the Tiber with a medieval radiation. Remarkable is how the old and new città is separated from each other by the part 14th century city wall. Another fact is that it is the place of birth of the famous painter Perugino. On the top of a hill at the edge of the forest lies this former Benedictine abbey from the year 1100. 8 km. south of Città di Castello and to be seen from the hill as well as Gubbio. One has tried to maintain it in the original state as much as possible. such as one have succeeded with the ceilings. floors and several doors.
