In a quiet location, Score Valley Country House is 1 mile (1.6 km) from Ilfracombe; a 5-minute drive or a pleasant 20-minute walk through Bicclescombe Park to the High Street.
Hidden from the road in its own valley behind a band of tall trees, the location makes it a great base from which to explore the vast sandy beaches of North Devon's golden coast or the wonders of Exmoor. The attractive, tranquil grounds surround the hotel’s car park, which is free for guests.
All of the spacious and comfortable rooms are individually furnished and equipped with all the necessary comforts and facilities.
Score Valley Country House takes great pride in its relaxed, friendly atmosphere and locally sourced home-cooked food. The hotel has a wonderful, peaceful location between Woolacombe and Ilfracombe, close to Exmoor and the unspoiled Atlantic beaches of the North Devon Golden Coast. The hotel makes a great base for walking, cycling, horse riding, shooting, fishing or water sports, whatever the season.
Ilfracombe, with its beautiful harbour, shops, theatre and other attractions, is just a pleasant 20-minute walk from the hotel. There is also an entrance to the Cairn Nature Reserve adjacent to the hotel. The nature reserve is great for an enjoyable walk and offers spectacular views across Ilfracombe and across the Bristol Channel to the Welsh coast.
In the region surrounding the hotel, there is a variety of excellent activity centres for quad biking, clay pigeon shooting, paintballing, karting or surfing. There are also 5 golf courses nearby, with courses suitable for all skill levels. There are 5 more courses within a 30-minute drive.
For those who prefer something a little more relaxing, there are several National Trust properties nearby, including Arlington Court and Dunster Castle. Alternatively, you could visit the area’s many beautiful gardens, not least of which are the Royal Horticultural Society gardens at Rosemoor.
